Manufacturing Engineer – Tipton

Hours of Work

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm

Salary

£45,000–£50,000 per annum

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our well-established client based in Tipton on a full-time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, the Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in improving processes, supporting production, and ensuring quality standards are maintained.

Day-to-Day Duties

Support the manufacturing process from design through to completion, ensuring efficiency and quality.

Work with core processes such as machining, mechanical assembly, and welding.

Contribute to process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Provide technical input, guidance, and support across production teams.

Assist with documentation, work instructions, and quality standards.

Help identify opportunities to streamline operations and reduce waste.

Essential Skills

Engineering background, ideally degree qualified or with equivalent experience.

At least four years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of two or more processes (machining, mechanical assembly, welding).

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly.

Organised, methodical, and focused on delivering “right first time” results.

IT literate with confidence using Microsoft Office and in-house systems.

Desirable Skills

Exposure to automation and robotics (e.g., COBOTs).

Experience in lean manufacturing or process improvement.

Training & Development

On-the-job training in specialist processes and equipment.

Ongoing professional development in lean and continuous improvement techniques.
