Job Title: Mainframe Engineer

Location: Riverdale, MD (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)

Duration: 3+ Years

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications for our client. The role requires strong COBOL and CICS programming skills, experience with JCL for batch job processing, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize mainframe code in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, TSO, and JCL.

Write and maintain JCL scripts for batch job processing.

Troubleshoot and resolve mainframe application issues.

Optimize and improve existing mainframe code for performance and reliability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions.

Assist in testing, deployment, and ongoing support of mainframe systems.

Handle additional related tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

5+ years hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS, TSO, and JCL.

Proven track record of mainframe application development and maintenance.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with CA-IDEAL and CA Datacomm.

Previous work in a higher education or large enterprise environment.
