Job Description
We’re hiring a detail-oriented paralegal who’s comfortable on the phone and adaptable off the phone. Your job is to contact government agencies, gather updates, document interactions, and push for timely compliance with official timelines. This role supports an ongoing legal and investigative workflow that depends on persistence, clarity, and strategic follow-up.
When you’re not on calls, you’ll help with additional legal and investigative support — drafting emails, reviewing documents, and logging progress.
You’ll speak with clerks, administrators, dispatchers, and agency staff across the country — and be expected to spot deflections, log key information, and escalate delays when necessary.
What You’ll Be Doing
Make daily phone calls to government offices (e.g., sheriffs, city clerks, state agencies)
Ask clear, professional questions to confirm timelines and procedural status
Document all calls, outcomes, names, and deadlines with accuracy
Recognize signs of noncompliance or misdirection and flag for escalation
Coordinate with a legal and documentation team to keep timelines on track
Draft follow-up language (email or mail) as needed
When not on calls, assist with:
Drafting and refining legal correspondence
Reviewing documents or digital files for completeness
Organizing timelines, deadlines, and case notes
Light research or writing tasks related to legal tracking
Requirements
Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal training required
Excellent verbal communication and professional phone presence
Strong documentation habits (notes, timelines, escalation logs)
Comfortable working independently and holding agencies accountable
Proficient with spreadsheets, Google Docs, and digital tools
Familiarity with government or administrative processes a plus
Bonus Points For
Experience in investigative roles, legal outreach, or compliance
Background in litigation support or government agency communication
Fast, accurate typing (especially while on calls)
Ability to quickly understand statutory deadlines and procedural workflows
