We are a reputed headhunting company based in Colombo looking for an Assistant Manager – Accounts payable for a leading company based in Matara.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation & analysis of various MIS such as Payables MIS, Payment efficiency, GRIR open status, etc.

Ensure timely booking of invoices, closure of open GRIR, payments, reconciliations, and coordination with other departments/vendors to resolve queries & ensure smooth functioning.

Analyze actual conversion costing vs. budgeted costs with respect to various activities, production tonnage, and variances; scrutinize GLs, discuss with respective departments for cost control, performance improvement, and reporting.

Ensure smooth month/quarter/year-end closing by pre-planning activities related to payables, provisions for costing, etc.

Assist in preparation of budgets for upcoming periods related to OPEX.

Drive automation of various reports through scripting in SAP and Macros in Excel; contribute to development of SAP T-codes to enable time savings, timely reporting, and compliance.

Prepare & implement SOPs to ensure smooth daily operations, departmental coordination, statutory and legal compliances, IFC controls, and best practices.

Handle audits including Stock, Statutory, Internal, and Limited Review.

Contribute to QIP, Kaizen initiatives, and measure KPIs against individual and organizational goals.

Key Requirements

Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.

5 to 7 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge of SAP and Accounting Standards.

Experience in handling quarterly & annual closing of accounts.

Experience in manufacturing/FMCG industry background (preferred).

Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and advanced Excel skills.

Proficiency in ERP systems – SAP S/4 HANA.

Hands-on experience with standard costing, activity-based costing, and variance analysis.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Financial Planning & Budget Control.

Process Improvement & Cost Optimization.

Risk Management & Audit Compliance.

Data Analysis & Variance Analysis.

Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work cross-functionally with production, procurement, and finance teams.
