JOB TITLE: Senior Mechanical Engineer PLANT/DEPARTMENT: Defense Engineering DIRECTED BY: Engineering ManagerIMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Customers, Marketing & Program Management, Plant Personnel, Vendor Representatives, Supply ChainDIRECTS: NoneMAJOR DUTIES:\n\nResponsible for interpretation of and compliance with customer purchase specifications.\nDevelop design or design concept and product specifications within cost and budget goals.\nCoordinate designer and design engineers’ efforts, based on budget and schedule, when assigned.\nMake or supervise preparation of layout drawings.\nPerform calculations and write reports.\nMentor engineers on analysis and calculation methods and procedures.\nPrepare detail and assembly drawings when drafting assistance is unavailable.\nConfer with engineering management on problems encountered and questions arising on project.\nDevelop requirements for and specify purchased components.\nCommunicate with other Trident operations on project requirements.\nPrepare proposals with estimated engineering effort from customer specifications and to marketing requirements.\nParticipate in design reviews and other assigned activities.\nPrepare test procedures and participate in testing of assigned engineering projects.\nDrawing approval based on calculations and analysis performed.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n EDUCATION PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:\nB.S.M.E.
