We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Manual Machinist with experence with valve repair experence, to support the inside machine shop at our Jacksonville Florida Marine Soloutions location.
This is a full-time position with occasional overtime as needed to better serve production demand.
In this role, you will work in our shop with other experienced inside machinists conducting activities utilizing a variety of mahines normally found in an inside machine shop as well as performing or assisting with the repair of a various pieces of equipment or system components.
Additionally, you may be required to go aboard customer vessels to perform Inside Machinist activities such as dimensional analysis, or portable line boring or milling in support of other crafts.
To perform your duties, you will need to operate basic manual machine shop equipment, as well as demonstrate strong math skills and must be capable and willing to work in a machining environment requiring the use of cutting fluids and oils.
In this skilled trade, dependability and a strong work ethic is vital.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Minimum 3 years' experience operating machine shop manual equipment such as lathes and milling machines as well as performing maintenance and repair on various types of valves such as gate and globe valves.\nAbility to show up for work on time.
\nAbility to work overtime to include weekends when needed.\nAbility to mentally shift between competing work requirements.\nStrong basic math skills.\nAbility to read and interprit blueprints/technical drawings.\nAbility to understand, read, write clearly the English language.\nAbility to work indeppendantly as well as part of a team.\nExperence with machine shop CNC machines is a plus but not a requirement.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain Defense Biometric Identification System "DBIDS" access card.\n\nPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills \nDependability and strong work ethic\nHigh School Diploma or GED and 3 years' experience operating manual machine shop equipment as well as industrial valve repair experience, or an equivalent number of years of education in valve repair and maintenance, including repairing various valve.\nExperience with tools and machinery required to perform valve repair duties.
Including but not limited to manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders and power saws.\nAbility to clearly write and speak and understand English in order to interpret documents such as safety and environmental rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals or instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
\nAbility to use, read and understand precision measuring tools and gauges.\nMechanical aptitude including use of basic hand tools.\nAbility to climb stairs and lift tools and materials to a job location.\nWillingness and ability to use personal machinist and mechanical tools.\n\nPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $44720 - $74360Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
