ATC Healthcare is seeking skilled RNs for 16-week contract assignments at a psychiatric healthcare facility in Savannah, Georgia.
This is a fantastic chance to gain experience in psychiatric care, work flexible contracts, and be part of a trusted team dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations through exceptional care.Position Requirements- Active State Specific Registered Nurse (RN) License- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross- Minimum of four (4) years of paid experience as an RN in a PACU/ICUJob Responsibilities- Provide immediate post-operative care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures.- Closely monitor vital signs, level of consciousness, airway patency, oxygen saturation, and pain levels during emergence from anesthesia.- Assess patients for signs of complications such as respiratory distress, bleeding, nausea/vomiting, and changes in neurological or cardiac status.- Administer medications including pain relievers, antiemetics, and sedatives as ordered.- Collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgeons to ensure safe and effective patient handoff and recovery.- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, medications administered, and patient responses.- Ensure proper functioning and availability of emergency equipment and monitor alarms.- Provide emotional support and post-operative education to patients and families regarding recovery expectations and discharge instructions.- Prepare patients for transfer to inpatient units, same-day surgery discharge, or ICU as appropriate.- Adhere to infection prevention protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.- Respond rapidly to post-operative emergencies such as airway obstruction, hypotension, arrhythmias, or code situations.- Maintain PACU readiness, including stocking supplies and participating in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.What is our culture?There are a few things we look for across all hires at ATC, regardless of role or team.First, we look for candidates who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and who will thrive in a culture that values teamwork, grit, and innovation.
