Job Description
Job Summary: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailer, diagnosing and fixing issues related to brakes, tires, steering, suspension, and other trailer systems.
Essential Functions
Troubleshoot and diagnose needed repairs based customer concerns. Provide estimates for repairs to customers. With approval, complete repairs.
Perform routine maintenance checks and preventative maintenance on brakes, tires, steering, suspension, and other mechanical and electrical systems.
Install accessories and make upgrades or modifications on new and used trailers.
Ensure trailers meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Pointing out concerns to customers, recommending needed repairs.
Address customer concerns, provide service updates, and work with customer to resolve concerns.
Accurately complete work orders, test trailers – pulling behind a vehicle when necessary – for accuracy of the completed repair document repairs and maintain records of service performed.
Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements while performing work.
Unload freight trucks for trailer and parts deliveries.
Assemble, test, and wash trailers as they arrive.
Assist other service technicians as needed.

Working Conditions
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and overtime, as needed.
Ability to work in all weather conditions on retail trailer lots.
Ability to regularly bend, stoop, twist, and lift while completing repairs and connecting trailers to vehicles.
Must wear personal protective equipment where require.
Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma, GED or equivalent demonstrated skills and experience required.
Equipment repair experience. Experience in trailer maintenance and repair preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems, proficiency with basic welding, cutting torches and electric hand tools is required.
Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record in order to drive company owned vehicles for testing of trailer for thoroughness and completeness of the trailer repair.
Ability to work independently and in small teams, good communication skills (both written and verbal), and attention to detail are essential.
