Position Summary

This position provides administrative support to Clinical and Faculty Affairs office and coordinates activities associated with various processes and projects.

Job Responsibilities

Validates, prepares, and compiles required documentation for academic appointments, promotions and reappointments in line with the checklists and procedures.

Submits academic appointment and promotion dossiers to NY and tracks the progress.

Assists in gathering evaluation letters and validating applications against set criteria.

Collates, prepares, and validates documents for submission to the Qatar Internal Review Committee.

Supports the faculty termination process and follows up with various stakeholders, including NY, to ensure a smooth exit.

Coordinates submission of applications for hospital privilege applications for clinical faculty, ensuring compliance with affiliated hospital criteria.

Carries out the logistical activities related to promotion seminars, workshops, and other events conducted by the division.

Drafts correspondence and service letters; sets up, maintains, and manages electronic and paper files.

Organizes the division office, ensuring appropriate equipment, supplies, and materials are in place.

Develops and updates content for the division’s website pages under guidance.

Provides document support with using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; updates and maintains various databases, including processing faculty data in the system.

Manages the appointment filing system, both paper and electronic, and ensures disposal per policy.

Gathers and stores all records promptly, complying with the records management policy.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in administration, business or education.

3 - 5 years of related experience in administration.

Prior experience working in an academic or medical environment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Well-versed in written and spoken English.

Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar was established in 2001 as a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar Foundation (QF). The first medical school in Qatar and a pioneer of coeducation at the university level, WCM-Q offers an integrated Six-Year Medical Program that incorporates pre-medical and medical studies and leads to the Cornell University M.D. degree.
