In this role, you will perform a range of technical duties using advanced imaging equipment to produce high-quality CT images for radiological interpretation, all while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain a High Reliability Organization (HRO) standard with zero scanning errors.

Utilize your technical skills and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy to perform CT exams swiftly and accurately.

Contribute to improved workflow within the department to meet operational goals.

Collaborate effectively with various staff members, including schedulers and physicians, to streamline scheduling and patient preparation processes.

Provide compassionate patient care to ensure comfort, safety, and satisfaction.

Clearly explain procedures to patients and prioritize their physical and emotional well-being.

Engage in record-keeping and communication tasks to support efficient departmental operations.

Ensure that relevant information is communicated effectively to radiologists and technical staff, minimizing any potential errors.

Operate CT scanners with appropriate protocols, ensuring quality images are obtained safely.

Perform regular equipment checks and maintenance as per quality assurance protocols.

Participate in teaching and training opportunities to enhance your expertise and support the development of others.

Be open to mentoring new CT technologists, student technologists, and radiology residents.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an A.M.A. approved Radiologic Technology program; AS degree preferred, BS degree preferred.

Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in CT imaging with established technical proficiency.

Licensure: RT(R) certification by the ARRT is required, along with CT certification or 20 years of CT experience. A Connecticut State License is required, and CPR Certification is preferred.

Special Skills: Proficient in advanced CT imaging techniques, possess an above-average understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, and exhibit strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Physical Demand: Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds for patient transfers.

Work Schedule: Week 1: 3p-11:30p Monday-Thursday, Saturday; Week 2: 3p-11:30p Sunday, Tuesday-Friday.
