Research Scientist position within the Department of Radiology at The Ohio State University, focusing on biomedical imaging and diagnostic imaging research. Responsibilities include:
Research Development and Implementation (75%): Develop and execute advanced research experiments, develop hypotheses, conduct statistical analysis, and interpret data. Write and submit grant proposals as Principal Investigator (PI), co-investigator, or collaborator to secure funding, with significant salary support from extramural sponsors. Write manuscripts, articles, abstracts, and research reports for peer-reviewed journals. Develop and implement new research techniques and methodologies. Ensure compliance with IRB protocols and federal/institutional safety regulations. Supervise and train junior staff, postdoctoral researchers, residents, and students. Foster collaborative research opportunities.
Laboratory Maintenance and Equipment Management (10%): Maintain research equipment, procure supplies, and serve as the primary laboratory contact. Ensure safety regulation compliance and resolve laboratory issues.
Regulatory and Literature Review (5%): Write and maintain IRB protocols and consent forms. Collaborate with statistical support. Review current literature to inform research goals.
Supervision and Instruction (5%): Supervise and instruct junior research staff, postdoctoral researchers, residents, and students.
