Maintenance Worker
Maddock School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Worker to assist in the upkeep and safety of our school buildings and grounds. This position will train and operate under direction of our current Maintenance Manager with the opportunity to become Maintenance Manager upon position opening. With the Maintenance Manager, plan, coordinate, and perform routine and preventive maintenance across the school campus. This role ensures that all facilities are safe, clean, and functioning efficiently to support the school's educational mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of building maintenance, repairs, and inspections
Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting
Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
Respond to maintenance emergencies and after-hours issues as needed
Maintain maintenance records
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certification preferred
3+ years of experience in building maintenance or facilities management preferred
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repair work
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed
Valid drivers license
Working Conditions:
Full-time, 12-month position
May require occasional evening or weekend work
