The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics and Division of Genetics invite applications for a non-tenure eligible clinical faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Our team consists of three geneticists, seven genetic counselors, and two metabolic dieticians. We aim to expand our division with the addition of a fourth geneticist who is also interested in caring for individuals with inborn errors of metabolism. Responsibilities include staffing general genetic and metabolic clinics in Charlottesville, as well as monthly/bi-monthly satellite clinics in Winchester, Lynchburg, and Bristol. Shared coverage of the inpatient consultation service is expected. Timely response to the triage of newborn screening cases is also required. Applicants must be comfortable working closely with a multidisciplinary staff of genetic counselors, dieticians, genetic counseling assistants, and administrative assistants. Preference is for candidates with biochemical genetics board certification or eligibility. An active research interest is desirable but not required.

Qualifications: The position is open to individuals with M.D. or D.O. degrees and candidates must be eligible for appointment to the University of Virginia faculty. The incumbent must be board-certified in clinical genetics, and will be expected to contribute to clinical service in that subspecialty. Preference is for candidates with biochemical genetics board certification or eligibility. An active research interest is desirable but not required.
