Position Overview:
The Staff Physician-Pediatrician, under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, will provide direct care to pediatric patients (ages 0-21). Responsibilities include conducting physical examinations, diagnosing, prescribing treatments, and performing related duties aligned with Equity Health's Principles of Practice, HMOs, and other contracted health plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform examinations and diagnose patients within scope of practice.
Prescribe and administer treatments according to current guidelines.
Maintain accurate medical records in EHR and document interactions within 48 hours.
Order and review diagnostic tests promptly.
Coordinate emergency and referral treatments with other providers.
Participate in Quality Assurance, peer reviews, and audits.
Contribute to healthcare system development and implementation.
Participate in an on-call schedule with the medical team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervision:
Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
Supervise students and interns when appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current California medical license.
Board eligible or certified in Pediatrics.
At least two years of medical practice experience or equivalent.
Ability to adhere to contractual medical practices with HMOs and other health plans.
Proficiency in managing care across all age and gender groups within scope of practice.
Strong teamwork skills and cultural sensitivity.
Proficient in maintaining accurate medical records and EHR systems.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
