Lead Engineer: Water & Sanitation

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning, design, and management of water and sanitation projects across all six ECSA stages.

Manage procurement processes, prepare tender documentation, and administer contracts.

Oversee construction monitoring and site implementation (part-time or full-time as required).

Undertake detailed designs for pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and bulk infrastructure.

Procure and manage specialist sub-service providers.

Prepare feasibility studies, proposals, business plans, and technical reports.

Mentor and supervise junior staff, ensuring knowledge transfer and team development.

Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and government bodies (e.g. DWS, GOGTA).

Ensure compliance with ISO9001:2015, BMS, and PMOG standards.

Stay updated on industry trends, research, and technology advancements in water & sanitation engineering.

What Youll Need:

BSc/BEng/BTech in Civil Engineering with Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng registration.

A Masters degree in Civil Engineering or related field is advantageous.

10+ years post-graduate experience in consulting engineering.

Strong administrative and HR management experience.

Proven expertise with FIDIC and/or GCC contracts (NEC exposure is a plus).

Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, EPANET, Civil 3D or similar software.

Exceptional communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Detail-focused, deadline-driven, and able to manage tasks independently.

Willingness to travel locally and across Africa when required.
