Job Summary

The Director of Business Intelligence (BI) leads data strategy, selects and implements BI tools and platforms that meet the organization's needs. This includes ensuring data security and compliance, overseeing data warehouse architecture and design, and managing the integration of new technologies and tools. The Director of BI oversees the design and management of data systems and drives data-driven decision-making by transforming raw data into strategic business insights. Key responsibilities include setting the data and analytics strategy, leading BI development teams, managing data architecture and governance, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with stakeholders to align BI initiatives with business goals and foster a data-centric culture.

Key Responsibilities

· Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive data and analytics strategy that aligns with overall business objectives.

· Data Architecture & Engineering: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data warehousing and data engineering solutions to optimize data utilization.

· Reporting & Analytics: Lead the creation of advanced reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to provide actionable insights for business growth and operational efficiency.

· Data Governance & Quality: Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data integrity, security, and consistency across the organization.

· Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts and engineers, providing hands-on guidance and fostering a collaborative environment.

· Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business leaders and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver user-friendly analytics solutions that support decision-making.

· Technology & Innovation: Keep abreast of emerging BI technologies, such as AI and machine learning, and recommend improvements and innovative solutions.

· Technical Debt Management: Identify and resolve technical debt within BI systems to improve performance and efficiency.

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Analytics.

· 5-8 years of experience in data analytics or BI, with several years in a leadership or management role.

Required Skills and Abilities

· Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), data warehousing, SQL, data modeling, and emerging technologies like AI. Experience in Domo Preferred.

· Experienced leader with strong ability to lead and motivate teams, manage projects, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional departments.

· A deep understanding of how data can be leveraged to drive business growth and strategic advantage.

Physical Requirements

· Travel as needed; primarily work from home.

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
