Under the general supervision of the Administrator and Registered Dietitian, directs and coordinates activities of kitchen workers preparing and cooking foods for patients, staff and visitors.
This position is full-time and includes a full benefits package.
Requirements
Supervises staff when preparing patient meals.
Maintains quality control measures to ensure temperature, attractiveness and palatability of food.
Ensures food is prepared, cooked and portion size is per established policies and procedures.
Ensures cleaning and sanitation requirements are maintained.
Supervises the ordering of supplies for the department.
Provides orientation, training and inservices for employees.
Schedules staff to meet department needs, taking into account low patient census.
Performs any or all of the duties in the kitchen, tray line, cafeteria and dishrooms as required by staffing shortages.
Updates staff on changes in work or workplace, including relevant patient/resident changes.
Previous cook experience required
Pervious managerial experience preferred
