We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Buyer to manage the procurement of electromechanical components for a key client operating within the advanced manufacturing space. This role is pivotal in driving cost efficiency, supplier performance, and innovation across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for electromechanical components (e.g., motors, sensors, actuators, connectors) aligned with business objectives.
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage a global supplier base to ensure quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
Contract Negotiation: Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, terms, and long-term agreements.
Cost Optimisation: Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, supplier consolidation, and market analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to align procurement with technical and operational requirements.
Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities in the electromechanical component space.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and manage supply chain risks proactively.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
Minimum 5 years of strategic procurement experience, preferably in electromechanical components or industrial manufacturing.
Strong negotiation and analytic skills.
Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
Fluent in English; German proficiency is highly desirable.
Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits and audits.
