Job Description

Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's (OSUWMC) mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education, teaching, and research. The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) assists the Nurse Manager in leading a team of care providers to deliver patient-focused care through the skills of all team members. The ANM promotes a healthy work environment, fostering collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team provides patient care and supportive services utilizing the Nursing Professional Practice Model, aiming for positive patient outcomes, family involvement, efficiency, and cost reduction.

Position Summary: The ANM assists in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating patient care operations on a 24-hour basis. The role involves operationalizing the medical center's mission, vision, values, and goals, and creating an environment supporting the nursing practice model. The ANM manages, guides, coaches, and evaluates patient care staff, collaborating with other departments related to patient care.

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent experience with a major in nursing.

Additional Education Desired: Master's Degree or equivalent with a major in nursing.

Required Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in nursing, Ohio RN license, 2-3 years of clinical experience, current certification in nursing administration or area of expertise, leadership experience.

Additional Information: Location: Ross Heart Hospital (0353). Position Type: Regular. Scheduled Hours: 40. Shift: Third Shift. Final candidates are subject to background check; a drug screen or physical may be required.
