Job Overview
The Support Engineer Electrical will oversee the design, installation, and execution of high-voltage power systems within the manufacturing plant, including substations and transformer setups. The role involves direct site monitoring, coordination with contractors, and ensuring safe and efficient power distribution aligned with operational needs. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on plant operations and infrastructure development.
Qualifications
Licensed Electrical Engineer
At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or greenfield project setup
Strong expertise in high-voltage systems (69kV and above), including powerline installation, substation, and transformer setup
Proficient in power connection design, load calculations, and system layout planning
Experience in site monitoring, project supervision, and contractor coordination for electrical works
Familiar with local electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project execution skills
Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee and execute end-to-end powerline installation projects, including substations, transformers, switchgears, and related high-voltage infrastructure
Develop and review power connection designs, single-line diagrams, and load distribution plans to ensure efficient and reliable power delivery
Conduct site inspections and monitoring to ensure proper implementation of electrical systems and adherence to safety and quality standards
Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and utility providers to ensure timely and compliant project execution
Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment in accordance with project specifications
Troubleshoot issues related to high-voltage equipment and provide immediate technical support during construction and operational phases
Ensure all electrical works comply with local electrical codes, industry standards, and health & safety regulations
Support ongoing operations by ensuring stable and efficient electrical supply to plant equipment and facilities
Prepare reports, technical documentation, and progress updates for internal and external stakeholders
Recommend improvements to electrical systems for better reliability, safety, and energy efficiency
