Magest is growing and we are looking to add an experienced Project Manager to our team on a 2-year contract. Our Project Managers oversee and execute our installation projects including: project management, management of sub-trades, construction scheduling, project budget and cost management, risk management, health and safety, project reporting, and client communications.
Your success in this role is achieved by pro-actively managing construction/installation projects in a highly professional manner and keeping in constant communication with all stakeholders throughout the project.
This is a hybrid role, with travel to site(s). Our office is located in Stratford ON.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish strong and positive relationships with our valued clients, ensuring the highest levels of satisfaction
Update project budgets and identify change orders
Review all drawings and specifications, specifically noting any special conditions or features
Create construction schedules, and depending on project size, solicit input from the Site Manager for construct-ability, staging and site logistics
Manage sub-contractor tasks and deadlines to meet or exceed target profitability
Liaise with the Site Manager to ensure project construction meets established time and budgetary goals
Input project data in our PM software system
Manage all project documentation including: permits and site notifications, change orders, etc
Manage risk to mitigate potential Health & Safety, financial and legal liabilities
Support project accounting staff by collecting subcontractor payment certificates and other paperwork as required
Participate in site meetings with the client, GC, consultants, third party vendors and sub-trades
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of project management experience in Commercial/Residential construction
Construction Management/CAD Technician diploma or degree/experience equivalent
Extensive experience managing deadlines and budgets
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans
Demonstrated ability to establish and build long lasting relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors and other stakeholders
Proven ability to recognize and mitigate project risks
Understanding of applicable legislative and licensing requirements
Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, with strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills
Demonstrated software skills including Microsoft Office suite, project management software, AutoCAD
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Hold a valid G driver’s license
Access to a vehicle
Willing to travel
