Education and Experience:
Must have bachelor's degree in a human services field (including, but not limited to: sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, and psychology) and at least 2 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities who have mental health and behavior support needs, or linking people with intellectual disabilities to mental health supports
In addition, must have 1 year of required experience as a qualified intellectual disability professional (QIDP)
Preferred: Licensed Marriage Therapist, Psychiatrist; a Licensed Master Social Worker who is clinically supervised by a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Psychiatrist
Or, a licensure applicant with a temporary social work license as long as the applicant is fully licensed within 6 months of hire
Must have valid TX driver's license and be insurable Job Purpose:
Provides behavioral support contained in state rules governing role and responsibilities of a local intellectual and developmental disabilities authority
Provides information about IDD programs and services to individuals with IDD and their families and IDD programs in the local service area
Collaborates with appropriate staff and transition support team members to identify individuals with IDD in the local service areas who are at risk of requiring crisis services Job Function:
Must provide education about the manner in which to engage the individuals with IDD and their unique needs to members and MCOT to increase the competency of the members, law enforcement and other as appropriate
Will maintain documentation and submit a quarterly report by the 15th day of the month following each fiscal quarter
Ensures proper billing practices are adhered to regarding direct reimbursable services and Medicaid Administration Claiming
