Position Summary: The CNC Mechanic / Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machinery, manual equipment, and support systems within the manufacturing facility. This position ensures optimal equipment performance to minimize downtime and support production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on CNC machines, lathes, mills, and other production equipment
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
Diagnose CNC control system issues (Fanuc, Siemens, or other OEM controls)
Perform precision alignments, rebuilds, and adjustments of mechanical assemblies
Read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, schematics, and blueprints
Maintain and update maintenance logs, records, and PM schedules
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and safe manner
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve recurring equipment issues
Follow all company safety standards and OSHA regulations
Assist with installation and setup of new equipment as needed
Maintain inventory of maintenance parts and supplies
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance or machining preferred
3+ years of experience in CNC machine maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing CNC equipment (Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, or similar)
Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work overtime or on-call as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in foundry or heavy industrial manufacturing environment
Welding and fabrication experience a plus
Basic PLC troubleshooting skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing
Exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment
