GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the leadership of the Regional Chief Financial Officer, the Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting with financial planning and budgeting, performance analysis and reporting as well as cross functional collaboration and systems implementation and data improvement. This position requires a strategic mindset and ability to translate complex data into clear business insights while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate has strong financial modeling skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to partner across teams to drive profitability and efficiency by supporting land acquisition, development, construction and sales functions.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain complex financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
Lead the preparation, consolidation, analysis of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range strategic plans for the assigned division.
Analyze large data sets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to ensure alignment of financial plans with goals and market conditions.
Provide monthly and quarterly financial performance reviews, variance analyses, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Drive continuous improvement in forecasting, reporting, and budgeting processes.
Support alignment between corporate finance and regional-level forecasting and planning, including capital allocations and 3rd party financing partners.
Work closely with land acquisition, construction, sales, and accounting teams to ensure alignment of financial and operational plans.
Evaluate project-level profitability, lot cost, vertical construction cost, and home sale margins.
Support evaluations, financial returns of new land deals, developments, and vertical construction investments, including IRR and NPV modeling.
Monitor absorption rates, sales backlog, and construction pacing to inform operational strategy.
Lead data integration initiatives across financial systems to ensure consistency, accuracy, and scalability.
Collaborate with IT and business units to enhance data warehousing capabilities and streamline reporting processes.
Enhance dashboards and KPI reports covering revenue, cost of sales, gross margins, backlog, cycle time, and SG&A performance.
Lead implementation of planning tools and enhance the use of ERP systems.
Support ERP implementation and regional alignment. PREREQUISITES FOR SUCCESS:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
MBA or CFA designation preferred
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial analysis or corporate finance.
Homebuilding or real estate development experience preferred.
Experience with financial systems and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
Strong understanding of systems integration and financial systems architecture preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics/Business Central, KOVA, Builder MT)
Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
