Department Bio

The Department of Epidemiology has one opening for Student Administrative Assistant (SAA) starting immediately. The SAA will work under the direction of the Department Program Coordinator to assist with the day-to-day administrative responsibilities of running the department and to assist the department's faculty members.

Position Specific Summary

Responsibilities include: assisting faculty members with their courses and training grants, helping to plan and coordinate meetings, travel, and events, answering the phone, responding to prospective student e-mails, creating spreadsheets, ordering, filing, completing administrative forms and limited fiscal processes, and other tasks as needed.

Standard Position Description

The student will serve as an administrative assistant and perform tasks to support the operations of the the office or department. Tasks may include: assembling materials, filing, photocopying, giving directions or information, responding to phone or email inquiries, scanning and/indexing documents, light data entry, and other general office tasks. Special projects or duties may be assigned related to specific office needs.

Required Qualifications

This is an entry level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

Must be an MPH student in good standing and in epidemiology

Must be able to work with multidisciplinary faculty, staff, and students

Must have strong organizational and communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
