Who you are:
The People & Culture Manager will play a key role in the growth, and development of employees and work closely with key leaders and Director People & Culture to help develop and implement strategies to enhance business performance and meet strategic business objectives. You are an individual who is detail oriented with strong organizational skills and can work both independently and in a team environment. The role will provide strategic guidance and interpretation of company policies, procedures, processes, and systems to leadership and employees. You are passionate about the HR function and seeking growth as the needs of the business evolve. This individual will work in a customer service centric department that aligns with the company’s humanistic values and brand ethos.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Partnerships
Effective partnerships with leaders and employees to develop thoughtful people strategies focusing on talent acquisition, talent management, training, engagement, and recognition.
Act as a strategic advisor to retail leaders, driving initiatives in compliance, employee relations, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
Implement new programs and initiatives that will continue to develop employees and contribute positively to the culture and employee engagement.
Partner with Talent Acquisition Manager on open positions and requisition management.
Exhibit strong interpersonal and consulting skills in dealing with employees at all levels of the organization, influencing, and relationship-building across functions.
Supervise and mentor a HR Assistant, providing guidance on daily tasks and projects.
Play a key role in delivering HR strategy and operational support across the retail organization.
Employee Relations
Act as the designated point of contact for your assigned employee population. Manage employee disciplinary actions to ensure consistent, uniform, and fair application of company, policies, and procedures and government laws.
Facilitates employee relation meetings, resolves workplace grievances, and conducts impartial, thorough investigations to ensure a fair outcome.
Prepares disciplinary letters and maintains employee performance records, resulting in improved documentation accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Recommend solutions to issues, consults employees, advises managers on discipline process and facilitates dispute resolution.
Provides coaching and guidance to employees and key leaders on employment matters, facilitates meetings, and add input based on knowledge of employee and business.
Conducts visits to various locations as needed to develop business relationships with employees at all levels and gain feedback to align with HR roadmap and people planning.
Developed personalized career frameworks to support employee development.
Applies knowledge of legal state, city and local requirements to ensure compliance and reduce legal risks.
Administration & Process Improvement
Liaise and engage with assigned population to drive consistency in Human Resources data, processes, and analytics to improve HR strategy and culture.
Reviews data analytics in partnership with Director People & Culture to provide regular updates around HR metrics.
Proactive in sharing insights to increase organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Takes a “hands-on” and analytical approach to support the business, by finding creative and strategic ways to improve processes, procedures, etc.
Proactively identify and correct errors related to talent data in various platforms.
Regularly audits employee information to ensure data integrity across HR systems.
Leverage HR analytics to support data-driven decision-making and optimize workforce planning across the retail environment.
Maintain and update Human Resource documents, such as organizational charts, directories, and performance evaluation records, with 100% accuracy and timeliness, supporting efficient decision-making and compliance.
Coordinate employee satisfaction surveys and gave actionable insights to improve employees’ experience.
Conduct and analyze exit interviews. Made actionable recommendations based on data.
Adhoc reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree Required in a related field, Master’s Degree encouraged
Must have minimum 5 years of experience working in an HR function with skills in high volume employee relations, talent management, recruiting, and performance management.
Must be proficient in Excel, and ideally previous experience in Workday and ADP Workforce now.
Knowledge of US employment laws, multi-unit, multi state environment, high volume, and high visibility environment.
Must be detail oriented and possess strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers, and management.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; positive team player.
Sound judgment and critical thinking skills, successful management of multiple projects and competing priorities while balancing the needs for quality with meeting deadlines.
Effective follow-through and strong communication skills across all teams and partners. Works well independently and in a group setting, demonstrates high levels of integrity and accuracy.
