The Application Integration Engineer will be responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the global JB Messaging Infrastructure. It is expected to bring extensive IBM product knowledge skills and certificate to secure production messaging uptime and availability as well as for problem determination, monitoring, performance tuning, administration, configuration, release- and patch maintenance.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Application Integration Engineer works closely with business and application development teams to solve business problems in development, testing or demonstration of messaging. The person is responsible for an error-free deployment on production environments and ensures the performance, availability, and security of the messaging infrastructure. The person fulfils day-to-day operational task and participates in 2nd level support at the Linux operating system level and takes part in the on-call duty rotation. This position is based on two roles:

Integration Specialist

The Integration Specialist supports a variety of customers with integration solutions based on message flows for service consumers and providers so that messages are routed, transformed, and enriched during processing

This role requires a proven track record of successfully delivering and maintaining integration solutions using IBM ACE, as well as expert knowledge about messaging on distributed system

IBM MQ Administrator

The IBM MQ Administrator installs and administers IBM MQ Server and performs many messaging related tasks across one or more engineering teams as designing, installing, and maintaining of queue managers and queues by adhering to backup/recovery design and configuration- and change management

This role requires a proven track record of successfully managing and maintaining queue managers and queues on a hub-and-spoke architecture, securing messaging, maintaining pub/sub messaging, as well as expert knowledge of asynchronous service-to-service communication

Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management

Ensure appropriate ethical and compliant behaviour within the area of responsibility by clear demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

YOUR PROFILE

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Professional and Technical

4+ years’ hands-on experience in architecting, designing, and implementing integration solutions by building message flows using IBM Middleware products IBM App Connect Enterprise on LINUX

8+ years’ hands-on experience in distributed IBM MQ infrastructure administration, defining and modifying MQ configurations, adhering authentication, and authorisation design by using IBM best practice

A thorough understanding of the concepts & implications surrounding building resilient and reliable EAI & SOA solutions on IBM Middleware as well as strong knowledge of different integration patterns

A thorough knowledge of server build installation and deployment, maintenance as well as migration and performing upgrades on existing MQ infrastructure. Knowledge in Ansible is a strong plus

Experience with messaging tools as MQ Edit, RFH2Util, Q/Q-Load etc. and with System Monitoring Tools

Demonstrate strong design and programming skills using the following technologies: ESQL, XML, XSLT, JSON, Web Services, Java, PL/SQL in Unix, and Windows environments

Well versed in implementing SSL security, certificate management, monitoring of IBM MQ products, backup recovery, high availability, failover methods, disaster recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, security hardening of IBM MQ and best practices

Good knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures for high quality software development

General knowledge of scripting (Perl, Shell, Python, etc)

Strong analytical and good inter-personal skills

Good organizational and problem-solving abilities

Excellent English written and verbal communication

Able to work on duty support shift for onsite support

IBM MQ / IBM ACE certification will be an added advantage

Additional Preferred Skill Requirements:

Knowledge of Enterprise Integration Architecture standards

Knowledge of IT service management best practice

Familiarity with the complexities of working with hybrid teams

Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and with classical/agile methodology

Exceptional intrapersonal and verbal/written communication skills

Individually capable, while able to work successfully as a team player in a team-oriented environment

Experienced working in a multi-cultural environment
