Factory Shop: Retail Manager

A leading paper factory, seeks an experience retail store Manager for their Pretoria north store.

Key responsibilities

• P&L & performance: Achieve and exceed sales targets, ensure required GP%, and effectively manage labour costs; review daily/weekly dashboards.

• New store openings: Plan and run end-to-end launches (readiness, hiring, training, merchandising, opening promo, break-even plan).

• Hire, roster, coach and store teams; run daily team meetings and weekly one- on-ones.

• Inventory & cash control: Forecast and order, drive stock turns, minimize expiry and damages; enforce cash-up, deposit, void/refund and till security SOPs.

• Availability & merchandising: Keep on-shelf availability high; execute planograms and promotions 100% and on time; maintain housekeeping standards.

• Customer & community: Raise service standards, manage queues, handle escalations; drive local-area marketing with community partners.

• Compliance & safety: Store audits, Health & Safety checks, incident reporting; uphold company policies.

• Cross-functional: Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for supply; support price changes, new SKUs, and seasonal builds.

Requirements

· 5+ years FMCG/retail experience (including 2+ years multi-store management)

• Experience in – developing sales growth, shrink reduction, and team development.

• Strong Excel/Google Sheets, confident with Point-Of-Sale & inventory systems

• Valid driver’s licence; frequent travel across Pretoria; ability to work weekends/public holidays when necessary .

• Confident communicator & leader who is comfortable to roll up your sleeves.

• Fluent in English.
