Job Description
The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks an Inventory Control Specialist 1 to join the patient care team in Clinic Administration to support the dental clinics. The College's Instrument Management Services / Shipping & Receiving Unit in Clinic Administration is an important function in the health care delivery system.
The IMS Inventory Control Specialist position reports to the Instrument Management Services Supervisor and duties of the position include:
Monitoring and stocking the first and second floor student clinics operatories including the student clinics side rooms on a daily basis
Responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of the first and second floor student clinics back labs
Assists in the Shipping / Receiving room by receiving shipments, unloading and unpacking stock and verifying quantity / condition
Stores issues and delivers supplies and equipment. Assists in the overall operation of IMS / Stores, Shipping/ Receiving, maintenance of perpetual inventory control, maintaining all related records including performing daily, weekly and monthly inventories of all products
Maintains and tracks the inventory of all heat sealed items, storing and distributing supplies and equipment including oral hygiene instruction kits.
Also responsible for maintaining the work area including handling hazardous chemicals and their disposal.
General office duties include greeting visitors, answering the telephone, assisting staff/faculty/students and coordinating special event deliveries to other departments and/or parts of the University.
Monday - Friday 12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
Candidate must be able to:
Work nights and/or weekends as needed for college events
Frequently lifting/pulling/pushing up to 70lbs, bending/twisting/turning/reaching below knees and above shoulders on a regular basis
Standing/ walking for periods of time.
Candidate must have the use of both hands
Other specific requirements include excellent hand-eye coordination, visual acuity and communication/language development.
Individuals in this position may be exposed to the following: chemical hazards (skin irritants).
Minimum Education Required:

Required Qualifications
Required: 7th grade plus: 3 courses in inventory control (or 3 mos. exp.); or equivalent (Per Civil Services Specs).
Desired: Knowledge of inventory control, record-keeping procedures, safety practices; using a personal computer and Microsoft Office to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex. Experience in a customer service setting; excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written; ability to consistently contribute to and work within a fast-paced team environment.
Target Pay Range: $15.15 - $19.79
