Senior Data and AI Engineer - Production & MLOps

Are you a seasoned AI engineer with a deep passion for building robust, scalable, and high-performance machine learning systems? Do you thrive on architecting complex MLOps pipelines, driving technical initiatives, and mentoring brilliant minds to bring cutting-edge AI models into production at scale? If so, we’d love to meet you!

Our team is at the forefront of a highly strategic project, Open Intelligence, operating at the intersection of data science, advertising technology, and audience insights. While our data scientists push the boundaries of AI research, we need your expertise to ensure these innovations are deployed efficiently, reliably and at scale. This is a unique opportunity for you to work alongside and contribute significantly to our existing engineering leadership, having an impactful role in architecting and implementing the MLOps infrastructure that powers next-generation approaches using pretrained embeddings, multi-modal models, and large-scale neural networks.

What You’ll Do:

Design and implement scalable, production-grade MLOps pipelines and infrastructure, ensuring the seamless deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of our AI systems in GCP.

Provide technical direction and expertise for model serving, data versioning, feature stores, and automated model retraining.

Collaborate closely with our team of 14+ data scientists and engineering peers to translate research prototypes into robust, production-ready systems, providing guidance on best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment.

Lead the exploration and adoption of new technologies and tools to optimize our AI development and deployment lifecycle, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Act as a technical mentor to junior and mid-level AI engineers, fostering a culture of operational excellence, automation, and continuous improvement within the team.

Oversee monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting of production AI systems, ensuring high availability and performance.

Who You Are:

You have a strong academic background (Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field) with significant experience (5+ years) in MLOps, ML Engineering, or Data Engineering roles, ideally specifically within an AI/ML context.

You have a track record of successfully architecting, simplifying and delivering complex, end-to-end production ML systems at scale.

You possess deep expertise in Python and scalable ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), coupled with strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and orchestration tools (Airflow, Kubeflow).

You are passionate about building robust, efficient, and automated systems that enable cutting-edge AI research to deliver real-world impact.

You have a solid understanding of data engineering principles, including ETL concepts, data warehousing, and distributed processing (Spark, Flink).

You are an exceptional communicator and a natural mentor who thrives in collaborative, high-impact environments. You value continuous learning, are eager to listen to diverse perspectives, and actively seek opportunities to learn from your peers and the broader team, regardless of seniority. You are eager to empower data scientists with robust operational capabilities and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
