Cardinal Engineering Associates, Inc. an established consulting Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm located in central Connecticut and celebrating its 63rd year in business is seeking a Survey Party Chief or Civil Engineer with well-rounded experience in Land Surveying.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Party Chief, will supervise members of the survey crew and perform boundary and topographic surveys for state and municipal infrastructure and private or public land development projects and prepare topographic and boundary maps utilizing AUTOCAD.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete site control, boundary reconnaissance, construction staking and topographic surveys

Supervise crewmembers in order to complete daily survey assignments

Work independently as a one-person robotic crew as required

Operate, on a daily basis, various surveying instruments

Daily uploading and downloading of data collectors

Manage survey equipment and supplies

Prepare topographic and boundary maps

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

3 years' experience working as a party chief for civil engineering projects

Demonstrated ability to supervise survey crew members

Ability to read and interpret construction plans

Proficiency in the use of survey equipment. (GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors)

Boundary and topographic surveys

As-built surveys

Construction Stakeout

Land Records Research

Experience in preparing topographic and boundary maps utilizing Autocad Civil3D.

Able to work independently with minimal oversight

Good problem solving abilities in both field and office

Strong supervisory skills and Good communication skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years of survey experience required

Must have a High School Diploma

Supplemental courses in surveying a plus

COMPUTER SKILLS

Knowledge in the use of AutoCAD and Civil3D

Qualifications:

Fundamentals of Land Surveying certificate, preferred.

2 years of Civil3D experience preferred
