REPORTS TO: Clinical Supervisor/Medical Director/Executive Director
SUMMARY:
This position is part of the clinical team. This position is vital to the overall treatment and clinical operations of the treatment center. The Therapist/AODA Counselor will act as a leader within the organization and direct the clinical treatment of the residents. The Therapist/AODA Counselor will work cooperatively and collaboratively with the CORE team, as well as other community members and organizations. This position will require some reporting and contact with insurance companies and referral sources. The hours for this position require on site attendance daily for group and individual sessions and staffing, however, there is flexibility for some work from home.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Maintain strict confidentiality and all residents and comply with HIPPA requirements.
Daily and weekly staffing with Clinical staff.
Clinical Intake, assessments, and treatment planning.
Case Management
Group therapy
1:1 Counseling Sessions (each resident receives 1 individual counseling session/week)
Family Counseling Sessions
Discharge and Aftercare planning
Educational group sessions
Progress Notes completed by the end of each week.
Communicate with case workers, aftercare facilities, physicians, probation officers, referral sources and community members.
Responds to crisis intervention as needed during work hours.
Maintains licensure requirements as directed by the Department of Safety and Professional Services.
Participates in after hours on-call crisis rotation.
Completes Mental Health evaluations at admission on all dually diagnosed residents.
Completes suicide risk assessments on all new admissions and ongoing risk assessments as indicated.
Provides individual mental health counseling to individuals.
Evaluates effectiveness of medications and collaborates with physicians when concerns arise.
Educates residents on mental health issues.
Provides mental health interventions and treatment planning for residents.
Completes all other duties as directed by the Executive Director.

Required: Licensed as a SAC-IT, SAC or CSAC, LCSW, APSW, LPC, LPC-IT or MFT
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related field
Preferred: Full licensure
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
Computer proficiency
