Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional/Behavior Specialist

Summary/Objective
The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional/Behavior Specialist will provide support to individuals and their caregivers by coordinating and providing services and direction in Applied Behavior Analysis, functional analyses and assessment. The QIDP/BS will also oversee all programming and provide ongoing support in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team for coordination and implementation of an individual's service Plan (ISP).
Essential Functions
- Applies advanced knowledge and consistently exercises autonomy, discretion, and judgment in development and implementation of Individual Habilitation Service Plans (ISP) for all assigned residents.
- Assesses residents’ needs and prepares formal assessment summaries for presentation to the interdisciplinary team, including functional behavioral assessments; schedules and chairs annual, quarterly and special interdisciplinary team meetings; ensures the attendance of all required team members; promptly writes and disseminates minutes of all interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Provides direction and coordination to all professional and residential staff in the development and implementation of the IHP OISP and training programs; this role will, write programs and behavior plans and ensure training is completed to various team members who could include, behavior technicians, Clinic Coordinators, school personnel, and all related providers.
- Observes and documents the implementation of all programs as required; ensures the documentation of programs, meets requirements and is completed in a timely manner; assesses residents’ progress and documents residents' progress as required; implements training programs as required.
- In the OISP process, is responsible for compliance of all applicable local, state, and federal standards.
- Attends meetings and in-service training to enhance knowledge and job performance; serves on committees as assigned; operates county vehicles.
- May assume administrative and/or programmatic on-call responsibilities for homes as assigned.
- Provide parent training and education on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to be utilized with their child(ren).
- Develop Behavior Support Plans for all individuals focusing on teaching functional replacement behaviors and other antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s).
- Create an ongoing data collection system to establish a baseline for all individuals and analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.
- Conduct skill assessments, develop skill acquisition plans, and monitor individual’s progress toward plans.
- Work collaboratively with varying professionals, including doctors, psychiatrists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to develop and implement individualized goals.
- Review and sign off on behavior plan/treatment plan training for all ABA field staff and provide ABA field supervision when necessary.
- Keep current with the literature, new research findings, and resources.
- Complete daily records of service into the agency's electronic health records system within 48 hours of the completed service.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures in addition to regulations, laws and other requirements from applicable governing bodies, certification, licensure and/or accreditation entities, etc.

- This job operates in a professional office environment and residential settings but regularly traverses program buildings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This position will support the multi-system youth (MSY) programs.

Supervisory Duties
This position has no supervisory responsibilities but will work regularly with the residential staff (BTs, CCs, AMs, RMs), Social Workers, and Therapists, providing oversight as it relates to the individual’s OISP.
Education, Skills, Experience and Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation, or related health/human services field.
- One year experience working with people with disabilities.
- One year experience in program development and implementation.
- Exemplary data collection.
- Proven training abilities (one-on-one overlap, team teaching, or in a group).
- Demonstrate clinical knowledge of many children with autism in different areas of the ASD spectrum.
- Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR - adult, child, and infant. (Training will be provided, if not already certified).
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record, if applicable.
Preferred:
- Currently pursuing or hold a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Social work, Education, or related field required.
- Three to five years’ experience implementing/supervising ABA-based educational and behavioral programming and curriculum development.
- BCBA certification or expected to have BCBA certification upon nine to twelve months of hire.
- Five years’ experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Work Hours: This is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel Requirements: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
