What you'll do

Under general supervision in the M365 team & Infrastructure Services Division, publishes IT enterprise artifacts:

Creates or edits IT artifacts, including architecture diagrams, policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, & best practices, with a focus on M365 Collaboration Identity product stack.

Leads & documents complex initiatives for organizational improvement frameworks in ensuring alignment with M365 security standards.

Becomes an expert in within M365 ecosystem focusing on collaboration identity (domain services, federation services, identity management & certificate services) with an eye towards security controls, risk identification, & mitigation.

Works with IT staff, CIO, or IT managers to design solutions that meet the agency’s requirements:

Conducts & leads M365 Collaboration Identity architecture reviews & provides input on enterprise or agency IT projects, emphasizing M365 security & compliance.

Assists with security analysis of IT solutions & designs, focusing on M365 services such as Azure AD, ADFS, & Entra ID.

Authors portions of the solution business documents, incorporating M365 best practices & guidelines.

Provides input & assistance in preparing security requirements or procurement statements of work, ensuring they align with M365 capabilities & standards.

Assists other IT staff, CIOs, or IT managers to achieve IT goals & objectives:

Represents ISD to lead, coordinate, or support IT projects, ensuring alignment with M365 initiatives.

Ensures communication is easily understood by intended audiences, including nontechnical staff, particularly in the context of M365 services & solutions.

Provides, revise, &/or vet focused research for M365 collaboration identity services & security practices.

Mentors & provides knowledge transfer to other IT staff, focusing on M365 core skills & best practices.

Seeks feedback from IT staff to continuously improve M365-related processes & solutions.

Develop expertise in related areas:

Seeks to develop expertise in project management methodologies, particularly those relevant to M365 deployments & migrations.

Seeks to develop advanced leadership skills; works to improve leadership capabilities within the context of managing M365 environments.

Continually self-assesses to ensure up-to-date knowledge & skills in M365 administration, security, & compliance.

Additional Skills:

AD Audit: Conducts comprehensive AD audits to ensure compliance with security policies & best practices within the M365 environment.

ADFS: Implements & manages ADFS to enable secure single sign-on (SSO) for cloud & on-premises applications.

Cloud PKI: Designs & manages Cloud PKI solutions to secure communications & authenticate users & devices in the cloud.

Disaster Recovery (AD): Develops & implements disaster recovery plans for Active Directory to ensure business continuity during failures or cyberattacks.

Entra: Manages & secures Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) to provide robust identity & access management for Microsoft 365 environments.

ID/CSS Domains & Forest: Manages ID/CSS domains & forests to ensure secure & efficient identity management across the organization.

Internal PKI: Designs & maintains internal PKI infrastructure to support secure communications & authentication within the organization.

MIM Administration: Administers Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) to manage user identities, credentials, & access within the organization.

Copilot for M365: Manages & utilizes Copilot for M365 to streamline daily admin tasks with AI-powered insights, natural language queries, & automation.

Disaster Recovery (M365): Develops & implements disaster recovery plans for Microsoft 365 services to ensure business continuity during failures or cyberattacks.

Microsoft 365 Administration: Administers Microsoft 365 environments, including managing users, licenses, & services to ensure optimal performance & security.

Microsoft 365 Licensing: Manages Microsoft 365 licensing, including tracking license usage, optimizing license allocation, & ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Core undergraduate program in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent work experience. AND Minimum 4 years combined work experience in any combination of the following: assisting with development and updates to the strategic Information Technology plan, participating in work groups to author Information Technology plan by discipline/program team and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and performing solutions design for assigned discipline/program team (e.g., software development, infrastructure, database administration, security) including 2 years technology related work experience as specified by the agency position description and vacancy/job posting.
