About the Role

Initial 2-year contract, commencing September 2025. Part-Time position - 12 hours per week.

The primary purpose of this role is to adopt a holistic approach to contemporary sport science and associated principles in Performance Development Program.

Further, the role will lead the use of various technology and software relevant to data collection analysis, and presentation as required, across the Athletic Performance Development program, from Year 5-12 inclusive of all sports.

Program Development

The Athletic Performance Development Coach – Sports Scientist will create the technical arm and associated platforms of Athletic Performance Development Program.

Assist in the strategic design and implementation of tech use/ model within the Athletic Performance Development program.

Assist in the development of onboarding software/ platforms for newly imbedded technology.

Create systems and processes for use of all sports science related tech. use

Collaborate with head of HPE aligning syllabus and tech use in the newly established sports science precinct.

Assist all areas of flagship sports science reporting and adapted principles.

Design and implement prepare to perform flagship presentations.

Leadership, Professional Administration and Community Engagement

The Athletic Performance Development Coach - Sports Scientist will develop, implement, and communicate tracking procedures, and outcomes, where required.

Track sports science weight room attendance and provide regular overviews to Heads of Programs, and Head of Athletic Performance Development, regarding engagement.

Develop key displays/ dashboards around outstanding testing achievements.

Engage with STEAM innovation summit where required.

Foster relationships with relevant governing sporting bodies.

Collaborate with Head of Athletic Performance Development, to deliver positive outcomes to all key stakeholders, as well as map key improvement and development initiatives.

Present and inform to key stakeholders on specific individual projects.

Performance Data Collection and Analysis

The Athletic Performance Development Coach - Sport Scientist will lead the data collection and analysis aross all Flagship and HPE Programs, as well as lead the tracking of students from Year 5-12.

Collect, process and display raw testing data each term for Year 11 and 12 Athletic Performance Development (Term 1 to 4).

Collaborate testing data of all identified HPE cohorts in conjunction with Foundations- Head of Athletic Performance Development.

Organise, lead, and report all flagship benchmark seasonal testing.

Load monitoring via AMS and appropriate communication to Head Coaches.

Lead all triage sessions, communication, and appropriate reporting to key stakeholders.

Skills And Experiences

Expected Qualifications and Skills

Tertiary Qualifications in Exercise or Sport Science

Current ASCA Level 1

Current Blue Card or ability to obtain

First Aid/CPR

Proven expertise in the collection and analysis of physical testing data to inform Heads or Program.

Proven expertise in utilisation of ICT and software to support Head Coaches (as required) across any BGS program.

Desired Skills

Excellent communication skills with parents, students and colleagues across a range of environments.

Competent or the enthusiasm to learn Tableau, Excel, Lumin and VALD systems.

Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently.
