Overview:

Full Time - 40 hrs. per week. 5, 8-hour shifts (Monday through Friday). Likely 3 later shifts (10:30a-7p), and 2 earlier shifts 8a-4:30p

Assesses, educates, and supports individuals with lactation concerns or difficulties.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

Assesses the breast/chestfeeding needs of parents and infants.

Develops and implements individualized care plans for parents and infants.

Provides education and counseling to parents and families on breast/chestfeeding techniques and infant nutrition.

Evaluates and monitors the progress of parents and infants in meeting their breast/chestfeeding goals.

Collaborates with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for parents and infants.

Maintains accurate and complete records of all lactation consultations and interventions.

Education Requirement:

As required by listed licensure and/or certification requirement.

Licensure Requirement:

Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Therapist in the State of Ohio, required.

Certifications:

Certification in Lactation Management by International Board of Certified Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLC), Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Advanced Nurse Lactation Consultant (ANLC), or equivalent, required.

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal, leadership and teaching abilities.

Experience:

Two years of clinical experience in relevant field, preferred.

Two years of mother-infant dyad experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

OCCASIONALLY: Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Driving motor vehicles (work required) *additional testing may be required, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Loud Noises, Patient Equipment, Peripheral vision, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Reaching above shoulder

FREQUENTLY: Audible speech, Bend/twist, Color vision, Depth perception, Seeing – Far/near, Sitting, Squat/kneel, Walking

CONTINUOUSLY: Computer skills, Decision Making, Flexing/extending of neck, Hearing acuity, Interpreting Data, Problem solving, Repetitive hand/arm use, Standing
