Senior Physician Advisor – Care Management / Clinical Documentation Integrity Physician

What You’ll Be Doing
Lead reviews for utilization, level of care, and appropriate status designation
Provide direct consultation to ED, care management, and medical staff on medical necessity
Educate and mentor physicians on documentation standards and regulatory requirements
Act as a liaison with payers and conduct peer-to-peer reviews to avoid denials
Design and execute a clinical documentation integrity program tied to quality measures
Compiles and submits monthly reports of performance metrics, intervention outcomes, education sessions, and appeal/denial results to leadership, including the CMO, CEO, VP of Patient Logistics and Care Coordination, and Chief Utilization Officer.
Maintains thorough documentation of interventions, decisions, staff education, and trends to support data-driven practice and organizational performance.
About You
Be able to do the job as described
Doctorate in Medicine
Must have strong computer skills and working knowledge of the EMRs
Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) (Preferred)
Solid background in utilization management, documentation improvement, and patient safety
Familiarity with MCG InterQual
Must possess a working knowledge of large health systems, case management operations and administrative standards and policies
Experience building collaboration between care management, HIM, and provider teams
Member of the American College of Physician Advisors (ACPA) (Preferred)
Board Certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, Inc. (ABQAURP) (Preferred)
