Job Duties:

Controls & coordinates inventories for the Department of Insurance.

Assigns inventory numbers & tags all incoming items

Submits completed inventory forms to DAS on all asset additions, deletions, transfers & verifies accuracy of information on fixed asset ledger by conducting physical inventory.

Prepares statistical reports from inventory information.

Transports equipment to and from State Surplus.

Responsible for updating and entering information in the Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS)-FIN.

Assist with maintaining the storeroom’s computerized inventory control system.

Supports Business Administrator with managing purchase orders including coordination with accounts payable for vouchers.

Ensures enough state vehicles and supplies are available to complete assignments/ projects.

Assigns fleet vehicles for employee use, assures that vehicles are routinely inspected and repaired for maximum benefits and employee safety, compiles and accurately maintains vehicle maintenance information for fiscal office to help determine replacement time.

Coordinates, analyzes & controls department’s inventory system, receives, inspects, & maintains inventory of materials, supplies & equipment for agency.

Maintains accurate records of all incoming and outgoing equipment.

Verifies quantities delivered and packing slips to ensure accuracy of items received; inspects stock for damages; assist with making errands to various state agencies and/or to deliver mail or pickup supply orders and delivering stock and mail to various department divisions; loads and unloads trucks; update and maintain safety practices for operating electric dock lift, envelope folders etc. and reports problems with supply deliveries and/damaged goods.

As a payment card holder, makes purchases for Department of Insurance (ODI) using the state payment card; completes payment card transactions logs and interacts with the accounts payable staff for payment card transaction processing.

Assists with errands to various state agencies and/or to deliver mail or pick up supply orders and delivering stock and mail to various departmental divisions; loads/unloads stock.

Update and maintain safety practices for operating electric dock lift, envelope folder etc.

Other duties as assigned.

9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in inventory control.
