Job Description
The Utility Worker maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in a food service operation serving students, staff, and guests of the university; operates and sets up dishwashing equipment: cleans dish return systems and area; disposes of all trash and food waste; stocks and/or supplies dispenser equipment and food items; cleans and sets up beverage, soft serve and other service equipment; cleans kitchen equipment; ensures the refrigerators are clean and in accordance with prescribed standards; cleans and maintains kitchen and serving equipment; washes windows and light fixtures; maintains floor cleanliness by sweeping and mopping. Work hours 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., with rotating weekends.

8th grade education or equivalent combination of education and experience; Per Classified Civil Svc Specs
Required Qualifications
Required: Per CCS Specs; 8th grade education; ability to count and read warning signs/labels; ability to lift and carry 50lbs; upon completion of the probationary period, must successfully pass specialized, title specific training administered by department; successful completion of a background check.
Desired Qualifications
Desired: High school diploma or equivalent; kitchen custodial work experience; Serve-Safe or equivalent sanitation training /certification.

The Ohio State University’s Student Life Dining Services is a premier campus dining department dedicated to serving students, staff, faculty, and guests. Critical to the Residential Experience, Dining Services administers the student meal plan to approximately 15,000 residential students on the Columbus, Mansfield, Marion, Newark, and Wooster campuses.
This position is located at Union Market and will support our Marketplace operations, serving a range of items, including paninis, wraps, burgers, quesadillas, tacos, build your own pasta bowls and hot bar, sushi station, grain bowls, salad, and fruit bars and build your own parfait bar.

The successful candidate for this position will be eligible for premium pay in addition to base pay. Premium pay is available to employees who work a minimum of four consecutive hours after 3:00 pm.
The target hiring range for this position is $15.00/hr - $18.75/hr
