Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchaser & Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join our production team. This multi-role position is critical in ensuring our supply chain runs smoothly and that customers receive high-quality devices on time. The right candidate will be organized, proactive, and eager to support both procurement and logistics in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Purchasing
Maintain optimal stock levels of parts and supplies; perform physical counts as needed.
Develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers to assure long term supply chain goals are met.
Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and troubleshoot transit or supply delays.
Initiate and track returns for rejected goods.
Source and develop new suppliers; obtain quotes and negotiate pricing.
Track vendor performance and onboard new vendors as necessary.
Maintain accuracy of Bills of Material (BOM) and physical inventory in Sage50.
Provide weekly updates on inventory status, shortages, or delays in production meetings.
Shipping & Receiving
Pack and prepare outgoing customer orders; perform light assembly and quality checks when required.
Receive incoming materials, verify counts, and conduct quality inspections.
Label and deliver received items to correct locations.
Manage the “Try-Me” program (cleaning returned products, tracking inventory, and maintaining availability).
Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment, suggesting improvements when possible.
Support of Assembly Processes
Assist with product assembly and other tasks as required.
Qualifications
Experience in purchasing, supply chain, or shipping/receiving preferred (manufacturing environment a plus).
Strong computer skills including spreadsheets.
Prior experience in electronics manufacturing/PCBA assemblies desirable.
Familiarity with electro-mechanical components (gears, motors, connectors, PCBs, switches, gaskets, etc.) desirable.
Knowledge of Sage50 or similar ERP/inventory software.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
Effective communicator with vendors, coworkers, and supervisors.
