Job Description
EMH&T is currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team based in Columbus, OH. This position reports to the Director of Accounting.
This position will have an active role in assisting with accounts receivable; Maintaining the fixed asset inventory and licenses; Performing other functions such as preparation, review, and distribution of various financial reports; and Coordinating liability insurance certificates for projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accounts Receivable: Works with Director of Accounting and Project Managers to collect past due invoices for certain departments within the company. Enters collections notes into Deltek Vantagepoint to keep AR reporting current. This position involves emailing or calling Clients directly, as requested by the Project Managers. Attends weekly AR meetings with assigned departments to review items over 45 days old and then meets weekly with Director of Accounting to review progress.
Provides new Clients with Company information, references, and banking information. Review credit reports for new Clients. Provides Clients with insurance certificates as needed.
Posts the daily cash receipts for the company and follows up with Clients for any payment discrepancies. Performs approved write-offs. Assists in the preparation of bank reconciliations and certain financial statements.
Maintains accuracy of Fixed Asset (F/A) Inventory and keeps F/A software current. Runs related F/A reports as needed. Obtains license, title and registration for all new company vehicles. Renew registrations as necessary.
Performs various functions as needed such as reviewing purchases for Use tax reporting, delivering reports, assisting other department members when necessary and other general office duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
BS in Accounting.
5+ years of accounting experience.
Prior experience in collections is a plus.
Must have excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of the MS Excel and MS Office Suite.
