Description

Basic Function

Responsible for developing and delivering training and education to the clients enrolled in Engagement Works at their workplace or another convenient location. Act as a strong liaison between employers and employees to develop partnerships and education modules that will provide the necessary skill sets. Provide training and instruction that is grounded in Employability and Life Skills and is specific to the refugee groups working.

Responsibilities

1. Deliver training and educational workshops using a variety of teaching methods, with a focus on helping New Americans successfully navigate work and daily life in the United States.

2. Collaborate with employers to design and adapt curriculum that aligns with workforce needs while supporting the skill development and career growth of Engagement Works clients (New Americans).

3. Provide instruction in job-specific skills that prepare New Americans for their first jobs and support their continued skill development with current employers.

4. Maintain accurate daily attendance records and case notes for participants in ESOL classes and job skills training; collect necessary participant documents and keep individual files complete and up to date.

5. Assist in conducting annual needs assessments to ensure the program effectively addresses workplace, ESOL, and social service needs of the target communities.

6. Represent the EW Working Group by developing and presenting activities with employers and clients during the CEO's monthly meetings and with ORR as needed.

7. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and program events.

8. Perform other duties assigned by the Engagement Works Manager to support program success.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree with TESOL Certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Previous experience in developing and delivering training modules. Previous experience working in a multi-level ESOL classroom. Understanding of and willingness to demonstrate communication, time management, problem-solving solving and workplace issue competency. Familiarity with social service programs, working with the refugee and immigrant community in educational, employment, and language programming. Collaboration with community partners.

Other Requirements

Possession of a valid Ohio driver's license, reliable vehicle, and automobile insurance. Evening and weekend availability
