Salary: $60,000 - $65,000/ year

We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to join our growing team.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator supports the execution of marketing and communication initiatives across a strategic mix of channels, working under the guidance of a direct lead. This role contributes to the development of communication and marketing plans that align with broader organizational goals. The Coordinator is responsible for tracking progress, maintaining schedules, and supporting project workflowsoften using Agile methodsto ensure timely delivery and alignment with team expectations. Strong communication and collaboration are essential, as the role requires consistent updates and coordination across stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level: Bachelors Degree

Education Concentration: Marketing (preferred) or Communications

Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional marketing and/or communications work within an organizational marketing department or agency/consultancy.

Preferred: Experience in/with healthcare is a plus. Direct project management is a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY

35% Execution of Marketing and Communication Plans

Implements marketing and communication strategies under the direction of team leads.

Supports delivery across various channels, including digital, print, and internal platforms.

Maintains consistent and proactive communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely execution.

Collects, analyzes, and makes recommendations based on performance data.

35% Project Coordination

Provides administrative and logistical support for all marketing initiatives.

Tracks timelines, milestones, and deliverables; communicates progress and flags potential issues.

Uses Agile project management methods to support scheduling and workflow across the marketing team.

30% Content and Campaign Support

Assists in the development and deployment of marketing materials aligned with strategic goals.

Contributes to social media, paid advertising, digital communications, and all other thought leadership and content creation (in all formats).

Collaborates with internal teams to ensure brand consistency and clarity of message.

MARKETING TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY

High proficiency with all Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and Adobe Acrobat.

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

Project management (using a formal PM process and/or platform)

Event management (corporate or other, multifaceted, multi-day for 100+ persons)

AI tools and solutions

Canva, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign, or other design platforms/programs

HubSpot or other CRM, CMS, marketing automation platforms

Google Analytics, Google, and/or Meta advertising

KEY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, professionally, and proactively across diverse audiences.

Superior organizational abilities, with a proven capacity to manage multiple priorities and maintain structure in fast-paced environments.

Acute attention to detail, with a proactive mindset that anticipates needs, identifies potential issues early, and ensures accuracy in all deliverables.

Strong time management and task coordination skills, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and supporting team workflows.

Collaborative and adaptable, with a positive attitude, constant learning mindset, and a strong sense of accountability.

Local to the DMV (DC/MD/VA) area is preferred.

SCOPE

Number of direct reports: 0

Individual Contributor: The position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff across functions.

Financial Responsibility: Incumbent does not currently have signing responsibilities

Budget Responsibility: N/A

Freedom To Act: Work is accomplished with limited direction. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.

Problem Complexity and Problem-Solving Timeframes: Provides resolution to a variety of problems that are typically well-defined, but some clarification or judgment is required to determine the action, as additional information about the problem/task is discovered. Uses judgment within defined practices/procedures to determine appropriate action.

Problem/Task Resolution Timeframe: In addition to shorter timeframe tasks, many initiatives and their supporting tasks may take several weeks to resolve.

Level of Supervision Received: Actively seeks guidance, but primarily functions independently within the broad scope of established departmental policies/practices; generally refers specific problems to supervisor only where clarification of departmental operating policies/procedures may be required.

Impact: Failure to achieve results or erroneous judgments may negatively affect trust and perception both internally and externally, and may require the allocation of additional budget and resources to correct and/or achieve goals.

Contact with Others: Frequently works inter-organizational and outside with customer/vendor contactspart of a greater, mission-driven team that represents the values of the organization. Proactively monitors activities and communicates information to partners and key stakeholders across the organization.

Travel: up to 25% (combination of local/domestic)

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The incumbent is required to immediately disclose any debarment, exclusion, or other event that renders them ineligible to perform work directly or indirectly on Federal healthcare programs. Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads that can be variable for long periods of time. Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
