Surgical Coordinator, New Milford, NJ area NJ $25 to $30 hour
Administrative tasks within a busy Ophthalmology Practice. This position requires strong communication skills, proficiency in medical terminology, and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and providing excellent patient service.
Manage patient scheduling, including appointments and follow-ups.
Conduct insurance verification and assist with billing inquiries.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review.
Utilize EHR systems such Practice Plus and Nextech
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information confidentiality.
Provide clerical support as needed.
Assist in the preparation of care plans and coordinate with healthcare providers as needed.
Support medical coding processes including CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10).
Handle intake procedures for new patients efficiently.
Previous experience in Ophthalmology preferred.
Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
Knowledge of insurance processes related to Medicare and other payers is beneficial.
Hours: 9-5 or 8-4.
Medical insurance, 2 options with an employer/employee contribution. 13 days off (5 which are sick/personal & 8 vacation days). Holidays 6, and a 401K up to 3% of salary (50% match).
