Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Understands the company's executive talent and hiring needs. Partners closely with Human Resources, hiring business leaders and executives to establish plans, define strategies, and deliver solutions that demonstrate how the company recruits for top talent.

Along with your team, develop effective pipeline strategies using a combination of talent branding, external

search firms, direct sourcing, online postings, referrals, social media, and other relevant methods that will deliver a well-qualified pool of talent.

Leads a team of experienced executive recruiters who guide hiring leaders during assessment and evaluation of candidates, ensuring extraordinary candidate care, presents Nationwide’s executive offerings, benefits, and perk effectively, and sells the Nationwide mission and vision.

Ensures high quality execution and repeatability across all searches to support Nationwide’s growth objectives.

Interviews executive candidates to build a deep understanding of their background and interests while forming a strong professional connection with them.

Collaborates across business and staff functions, acting as a strategic thought leader on recruiting top talent that will contribute to the long-term growth and success of the company.

Ensures the team leads end-to-end efforts in search of key executive internal and external talent including initial intake meetings to understand the business needs, on-site visits, assessments, and negotiating competitive offers with multiple components of compensation to close the deal.

Ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations governing the employment process.

Develops talent through formal and informal development programs, meaningful work assignments and consistent coaching and feedback, among other personalized development strategies.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Sr Associate Vice President, Executive Recruiting. Manages a team of approximately 3 – 4 associates. May also manage external resources.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate degree in human resources, business, or related areas, with a Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Ten years of demonstrated experience with large volume recruitment including executive level recruitment. Experience leading a team in a large corporate setting and partnering with external firms. Skilled in customer service, relationship management, and project management. Experience in an insurance or financial services environment a plus.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

Proven knowledge of general management practices, human resource management subject areas such as recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, employee relations, regulatory compliance, etc. Highly skilled in strategic planning, building partnerships and influencing senior leadership in a corporate setting. Ability to effectively work in a matrixed environment and lead executive search in a nationally distributed environment. Knowledge of insurance and/or financial services preferred. Excellent skills in negotiating, persuading, counseling, and conflict resolution. Strong leadership skills. Ability to handle multiple projects of diverse issues. Proven ability to own the partnership model and strategy with executive search firms nationally. Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations both federal and state.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resource Business Partner.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
