Job Description
Job Summary: The Kitting Assembler I is responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling, counting, and packaging components and materials into production kits according to specified production orders and bills of materials (BOMs). This role is crucial for ensuring that production lines have all the necessary parts to meet manufacturing schedules and quality standards.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
Accurately read and interpret production orders, schematics, and BOMs to identify required components.
Pull and stage parts from inventory locations, ensuring accurate counts and part numbers.
Kit components for various production lines, ensuring all parts are correctly grouped and labeled.
Inspect components for quality and accuracy, reporting any discrepancies or damage to a supervisor.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to address any kitting or inventory issues.
Close out and address open production orders.
Perform other duties as assigned to support production and warehouse operations
Provide feedback for process improvement opportunities that would enhance safety, productivity, or efficiency.
Maintain and improve area cleanliness to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
Ability to flex into other work areas as needed
Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
Prioritization and organization skills
Ability to use hand tools
Forklift certification
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Essential Physical Functions:
Be able to safely lift or move at least 50 lbs.
Be able to safely climb stairs or ladder.
Be able to work in cold or hot working conditions
Must be able to Bend, Stoop, Squat, Kneel
Equipment Used:
Fork trucks, hand trucks, and side loaders. Hand tools as needed
