OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with experience in plastic injection molding to join our team. Under general supervision, this role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing injection molding machines and related equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency and workplace safety. The technician will diagnose root causes of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

Key responsibilities include inspecting and repairing equipment, reading and interpreting technical schematics, conducting root cause analyses, and performing general maintenance duties, including light fabrication and carpentry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in injection molding machinery (preferably Nissei, Boy, or Arburg), possess a logical and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving, and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision, maintenance activities are performed. Measures and analyzes machine data, determines root cause of failures and recommends resolutions. The maintenance technician will set, adjust and maintain assigned plastic injection molding machines and equipment with responsibility for production efficiency and safety.

Ability to work on injection molding and related equipment

Visually inspects and troubleshoots machines and equipment to locate cause of malfunction

Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems

Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned

Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic prints

Analyzes electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and operational problems in injection molding

Fabrication and installation of related trades. Perform building maintenance and general carpentry

Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

MINIMUM LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Analytical skills

Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem-solving

High School Diploma or equivalent

Associates or technical degree preferred

Maintenance Technician: Three years

Plastic Injection Molding: Three years with medium tonnage plastic injection molding machines preferred

Knowledge of robot operations a plus

Monday-Friday: 7 am - 3 pm EST
