Position Description:
This position performs a wide variety of functions related to applying a paint finish to completed units and sub-assemblies, some of which may have unusual finishes, with a brush or spray gun.
Essential Functions:
* Mixes paints, enamels or lacquers to specified colors, consistencies and viscosities for spraying and brushing.
* Prepare surfaces, mask and apply coating to a variety of parts, improvising to meet specifications required.
* Touch up marred or defective surfaces on painted parts discovered during repair or inspection tasks.
* Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Required Skills
* 6 months industrial or automotive painting experience preferred, experience with precision work on small parts or unusual finished strongly preferred.
* Ability to use small tools and measuring instruments including- Zahn-Cup/ Micrometer.
* Must be able to work in an environment where paint, and solvent fumes and dust are present.
* Must be able to wear dust mask or respirator.
* Must be able to color blend and color match existing finishes.
Education & Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Minimum 1 year related work experience required; 2-4 years preferred
* Previous experience with NADCAP audits preferred.
* Must be a US Citizen.
