Job Summary:

• We are seeking experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Workers to join a busy Assessment and Intervention Team on a full-time basis.

• This is a frontline role focused on improving outcomes for children and families through timely and high-quality assessments, planning, and interventions.

• The position offers a blended working arrangement with a preference for office-based work, particularly during duty weeks, while also offering flexibility for home working.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):

• Undertake assessments of need and risk for children and families in line with statutory guidance and organisational procedures.

• Carry out Child Protection investigations and support care planning processes to safeguard children.

• Deliver direct work with children and young people to understand their lived experience and inform practice.

• Prepare clear, evidence-based assessments and reports for case conferences, reviews and legal proceedings.

• Work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to develop and implement effective intervention plans.

• Maintain up-to-date case records and manage caseloads independently and efficiently.

• Participate in duty rota and respond to crisis situations as required.

• Adhere to all relevant legislation, policy, and best practice frameworks including the Children Act and Working Together to Safeguard Children.

• Engage in supervision and reflective practice to ensure continued professional development.

Skills/Experience:

• Minimum of three years’ post-qualified experience in children’s statutory social work in England.

• Demonstrable experience in frontline child protection and assessment and intervention work.

• Proven ability to carry out high-quality, analytical assessments of need and risk.

• Skilled in working with children, families, and professionals using a range of evidence-based approaches.

• Excellent understanding of child development, attachment, and the impact of trauma.

• Strong multi-agency working skills and a commitment to collaborative working.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing clear, concise, and analytical reports.

Additional Information:

• Full-time role: 37 Hours/week.

• A driving licence is essential due to the need for travel across the region.

• A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g. Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).

• Registered with Social Work England.

• A full UK driving licence and access to a car.
