Job Description
Position Summary:
The CPA will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance while working closely with project managers, executives, and external partners. Experience in construction accounting is essential, including job cost accounting, WIP schedules, and project-based financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Develop and maintain Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports and job cost tracking.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and industry-specific regulations.
Partner with project managers to monitor budgets, costs, and profitability.
Manage audits, tax filings, and liaise with external auditors and tax professionals.
Implement and maintain internal controls and process improvements.
Provide financial forecasts and strategic guidance to leadership.
Qualifications:
Active CPA license required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum [5] years of accounting experience, with at least [2] years in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing, progress billing, and WIP reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or other construction-related systems).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
